Hike 5,000 meters up to the most colorful gate of heaven!
Your trip to beautiful Rainbow Mountain will begin at approx. 3:00 AM when we pick you up from your hotel. We will begin with a 3-hour trek by the South Valley to reach the trailhead in Quesiuno (elevation 14,189 ft.). Throughout this walk, we will be surrounded by breathtaking views of fields and snowy landscapes.
When we reach our first stop, we will have breakfast (included with your booking) before beginning the leisurely remainder of the walk. You will be amazed to see alpacas, llamas, and other wildlife. We will travel along the famous Ausangate trail, a historical path crucial to the Inca people.
After a walk of about 3 hours, we will arrive at Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain (elevation 5,020 m / 16,466 ft.), where we will have an hour to enjoy taking pictures of the breathtaking scenery and have a snack. Then, we will return along the same path to the starting point (approx. 2 hours), where our private transportation will meet us to take us back to the village of Pitumarca for a traditional lunch typical in the region. After lunch we will begin the return trip (approx. 3 hours) and will arrive back in Cusco between 6 and 7 PM.
