One of the excursions we will take is to a Quechua Village. Because I love kids and also the Quechua culture, this is my favorite excursion. The people receive us with dancing and invite us to dance with them. They show us their traditional weaving and farming methods. They believe they should be happy while they work, and they are.
They make a traditional lunch for us. It is cooked in the ground and covered with hot rocks. Everyone works together to cover the food with herbs and hot rocks, which must be done quickly, before the rocks cool.
Give gifts to the children
The best part is that we bring toys and school supplies to give to the kids. They are happy with the smallest things. They don’t have the opportunity to interact with foreigners and we want to make their first impression a good one. Like the rest of us, they feel good knowing someone cares about them. You will leave feeling like you have received much more than you have given!
We also get to meet their Alpaca!
The guide speaks Quechua and translates during the entire experience.
