The journey is quite steep up to 13,615 feet but well worth it. The site is located on a plateau with stunning views of the Sacred Valley and the snowcapped peaks of the Vilcabamba Mountain Range.
The beautiful Inkan site is believed to have been built by the Emperor Ubiracochia around 1420 A.D.as a military administrative and agricultural center. There are numerous structures and an 800 meters long irrigation channel. It is surrounded by wonderfully preserved agricultural terraces.
